Dan Hurley Won't Go To NBA Lakers
Coach declined 6-year, $70 million offer from the Lakers
Hurley guided Huskies to back-to-back national championships
University of Connecticut men's basketball head coach Dan Hurley will remain at the school after flirting with the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers.
Hurley, who led the Huskies to back-to-back national championships in 2014 and 2015, was reportedly offered a six-year, $70 million contract by the Lakers. However, Hurley ultimately decided to stay at UConn, where he has been the head coach since 2018.
The Lakers are reportedly still looking for a new head coach after firing Frank Vogel in April. Other candidates who have been linked to the job include Tyronn Lue, Mark Jackson, and Doc Rivers.
